🎉 DSL Con 2026 🎉

Greetings, adventurers!

DSL Con is almost here, and we're looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible! Whether you're a longtime veteran of DSL or making your first pilgrimage, we're excited to have you.

Feel free to arrive a little early! I'll be taking a few days off work before the con, so there will almost always be someone hanging around, relaxing, and getting into trouble.

🏨 Staying in Amarillo

The Hollywood/Scotsman and City View areas have several Airbnbs, and there are plenty of hotels around Hollywood Road and I-27, all just a few minutes from the house.

Honestly though...this is Amarillo. Pretty much everything is within a 20-minute drive.

The only area we'd suggest avoiding for lodging is around Amarillo Boulevard.

☀️ What to Bring

It'll be hot. Like...Texas hot.

Expect temperatures somewhere in the 90s to low 100s, but thankfully our humidity usually remembers it has somewhere else to be.

Bring:

• Sunscreen

• A swimsuit (the saltwater pool gets a LOT of use)

• A towel

• Lawn chair (if you're driving)

• Cooler & ice (always helpful)

• Your favorite beverages (BYOB)

Speaking of beverages...

Wyatt brewed a batch of beer specifically for Con, and I finally cracked open two meads I've been aging for a couple of years:

• 🍓 Strawberry

• 🫐 Blueberry

Hopefully they're amazing.
If not...well...there's always beer.

Hydrate responsibly. Water counts too.

🐕 Pets & Other Creatures

Dogs are welcome!

Just keep in mind we have:

• Free-ranging chickens

• Our own dogs (including Sergeant, who takes neighborhood security extremely seriously)

• Friends who may also bring dogs

We've never had any issues, but we'd appreciate everyone keeping an eye on their furry companions.

Also...

Our cat JAMBO is a professional escape artist and believes every open door is a personal invitation to freedom. If you see him making a break for it, please help us convince him that indoor life isn't so bad.

🚗 Parking

Parking is all street parking.

If possible, please park along Alamo Road—it's only a short walk and helps keep our immediate neighbors happy.

You can't miss the house:

• The DSL flag will be flying.

• The curb has Air Force and Alabama logos painted on it.

When you arrive, be sure to find me and say hello! I always enjoy finally putting faces to character names.

Thursday (July 23) — Early Arrivals

Swing by whenever.

We'll have food available (or bring your own), relax by the pool, catch up, and probably break out:

• Poker

• Game of Thrones Risk

• General nonsense

It's basically "pre-con before the con."

Friday (July 24) — LET THE CON BEGIN!

Come over anytime after 2:00 PM.

Dinner

We'll be grilling:

• Burgers

• Hot dogs

If you have dietary restrictions, please bring something for yourself.

Sides are always welcome!

Saturday (July 25) — The Main Event

Come over anytime after 2:00 PM.

Kaz will be smoking a brisket, and we'll have plenty of additional food on the grill.

The Not-So-Round Table

Sometime early Saturday evening we'll gather for our annual discussion of current DSL projects, ideas, and future plans.

This is your opportunity to give us your feedback, suggestions, and ideas.

(Constructive criticism encouraged. Torches and pitchforks discouraged.)

We'll probably:

• Grill whatever food somehow survived

• Tell stories

• Wonder whose idea it was to stay up until 2 AM

• Recover from our completely responsible beverage decisions

Feel free to stop by if you're staying through Monday.
