The Church of Necrucifer

After the birth of the land, Necrucifer was one of the chosen given rule by the High God. The Father of Darkness was never born; he always was, and was thought always to be. Seeking to seize the world, he tried to assassinate Austinian, and their battle raged from the immortal stars to the lands below. Necrucifer's blood tainted the rivers and oceans, spawning evil creatures across the land.

Legends said that when he was angered, the stars would fall from the sky. He wore a cowl that always hid his face and shunned the light, snuffing every flame so he could bathe in darkness. With Drakkara he fathered Fatale, Dragoth, Devion and Mencius, who together formed the Sphere of Darkness he ruled.

His reign ended in betrayal. When Mencius cut down Siccara, she cast the God sacrifice spell, and its light burned as hot as a star, tearing Mencius apart. Necrucifer turned to flee and found his wife Drakkara beside him. "We will move on without you," she said, and shoved him into the burning light, where his being was torn into nothingness. Drakkara absorbed all of his power and took the Darkness for her own.

Zandreya has said that one who was never born cannot die, and some of his faithful still pray at his cold altars for a return that has not come. Drakkara knows better: she did not merely end Necrucifer, she unmade him.
