Out of the darkness and madness of the heavens, Mencius, the God of Vengeance and Rage, was born. On the day of his birth, lightning lit the cloudless skies of the mortal world for hours on end.
His followers were volatile and wholly untrustworthy, and he made pacts with them to see his work done. He appeared in regal armor with his weapon drawn, razing towns, slaying whole populations and stirring riots wherever he went. Anyone not his devotee who saw him was well advised to run.
Mencius met his end on the black moon, where Nadrik had been held captive for nearly a decade. When the Gods of Good came to rescue him, Mencius demanded the right to kill Nadrik himself, and Necrucifer gave the order. Siccara took the blade in her brother's place, and as Mencius hacked her in two she cast the God sacrifice spell. Its light burned as hot as a star, and Mencius was ripped apart within it, screaming in rage.
No demons serve Mencius in Algoron at present.

Priests devote their lives to the service of their god, teaching the holy (or unholy) gospel and converting others to the faith. Every church is organized in ranks, and each rank brings more power. A priest who meets a rank's requirements may petition their god for promotion; the gods watch their priests throughout their lives, from their duties to their prayers (and gprays) to the notes they write on matters affecting the faithful, and judge their worth by what they see.
